License Agreement =================================================================== 1. About Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) ======================================================================== Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) delivers high-performance, cost-effective security services, helping protect companies by finding and removing security threats from computers or devices that do not have security software or an Internet connection. The Scanning Tool is an antivirus security program in a portable USB device that you can easily use to find and remove security threats from computers or devices without having to install an antivirus program. You can also use the Management Program to manage all updates, scan settings, and the logs generated by the scanning tool. 1.1 Overview of This Release ===================================================================== This patch includes fixes to issues discovered after the release of Trend Micro Portable Security 2 build 1215 to 1225. It also adds support for new platforms and a new language. Refer to Section 2, "What's New", for details. 1.2 Who Should Install This Release ===================================================================== You should install this Service Pack 1 release if you are currently using Trend Micro Portable Security 2 builds 1215 to 1225. 2. What's New ======================================================================== Note: Please install the Service Pack before completing any procedures in this section (see "Installation"). This Service Pack addresses the following issues and/or includes the following enhancement(s): 2.1 Enhancements ===================================================================== The following enhancements are included in this patch: Enhancement 1: Supports new platforms for the Management Program and Scanning Tool - Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit) - Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit) Enhancement 3: Supports Simplified Chinese for Multilingual User Interface (MUI) To enable this option: a. Launch the Management Program or the Scanning Tool. b. Click the "Settings" link on the console. c. Change the "Language" option to Simplified Chinese. d. Click the "Save" button. 2.2 Resolved Known Issues ===================================================================== Issue 1: The "Scanning Logs" page and log files may show the wrong scan results when the action performed on a detected threat requires the computer to restart. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 1: This service pack ensures that the correct scanning results appear in the "Scanning Logs" page and in log files. Issue 2: Sometimes, the "Start" and "End" time information for scans in exported CSV files are not consistent with the time information in the Trend Micro Portable Security 2 console. This occurs because time information is always exported from the UTC time zone instead of the local time zone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 2: This service pack ensures that the "Start" and "End" time information of scans are exported in the correct local time zone. This ensures that the time information on exported CSV files and on the Trend Micro Portable Security 2 console are consistent. Issue 3: The Scanning Tool may not be able to restore quarantined files when users log on using an account name with multi-byte characters. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 3: This service pack ensures that the Scanning Tool can restore quarantined files properly when users log on to the Scanning Tool using an account name with multi-byte characters. Issue 4: "SmallDebugTool.exe" may not be able to collect debug log files when users log on to the Scanning Tool using an account name with multi-byte characters. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 4: This service pack ensures that "SmallDebugTool.exe" can collect debug log files properly when users log on to the Scanning Tool using an account name with multi-byte characters. Issue 5: The Scanning Tool may not be able to retrieve the MAC address of a computer that does not have an IP address. As a result, this information will not appear in scanning logs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 5: This service pack ensures that the Scanning Tool can successfully retrieve the MAC address of computers that do not have an IP address. Issue 6: The date and time information for Rescue Disk scans in the Trend Micro Portable Security 2 console are not consistent with the actual "Start" and "End" time information. This occurs because the time information are imported from the wrong time zone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 6: This service pack enables Trend Micro Portable Security 2 to import the "Start" and "End" time information for Rescue Disk scans using the UTC time zone. This ensures that the correct date and time information appears on the Trend Micro Portable Security 2 console. Issue 7: Trend Micro Portable Security 2.0 uses OpenSSL 1.0.1e in its Management Program and Scanning Tool. However, this version of OpenSSL is affected by the TLS heartbeat read overrun (CVE-2014-0160) vulnerability. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 7: This service pack updates the OpenSSL version to 1.0.1h to remove this vulnerability. Issue 8: When the Scanning Tool performs a components update, it also updates the "Last Sync" and "Last Update" information on the Management Program. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 8: This service pack ensures that the Scanning Tool only updates the "Last Update" information on the Management Program. Issue 9: Trend Micro Portable Security 2.0 uses OpenSSL 1.0.1e or 1.0.1g in its Management Program and Scanning Tool. A Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack (CVE-2014-0224) vulnerability can exploit this version of OpenSSL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 9: This service pack updates the OpenSSL version to 1.0.1h to remove this vulnerability. Issue 10: Unable to install the Management Program if the Management Program password includes a semi colon (;). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 10: This service pack ensures that the Management Program installer allows the client to use semi colons (;) for the password. Issue 11: The Active Update process on a managed Scanning Tool takes a longer time to run if the Management Program address uses the computer name in an environment wherein the dual stack for Internet Protocol is enabled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 11: This service pack ensures that the Active Update process will respond immediately under a dual stack environment. Note: Trend Micro Portable Security 2 supports only IPv4. Issue 12: The scanning logs show incorrect operating system information for Windows embedded editions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 12: This service pack ensures that the scanning logs shows the correct operating system information. Issue 13: Trend Micro Portable Security 2 is unable to use the "Scan as Administrator" feature on older operating systems like Windows XP. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 13: This version ensures that Trend Micro Portable Security 2 can use the "Scan as Administrator" feature on older operating systems. Issue 14: Some of the wording on the debugging wizard of the Japanese Diagnostic Toolkit does not show on Windows 8 operating systems. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Solution 14: This version ensures that wording for the Japanese Diagnostic Toolkit shows correctly on Windows 8 operating systems. 3.
