Monitor with at least a 640 x 480 screen resolution and 16-bit color f. USB 1.1, 2.0 or 3.0 port g. Working Internet access to the management computer (for the management control mode only) 4.3 Required Web Browser ===================================================================== Microsoft Internet Explorer(TM) 6.0 or higher for the Management Program. 4.4 Other Recommendations ===================================================================== Trend Micro recommends installing Trend Micro OfficeScan on the computers with the Management Program installed. Note: You can use the Scanning Tool for scanning and updating but not storing your files like a regular USB drive. 5. Installation ======================================================================== 5.1 Installing the Management Program ===================================================================== Trend Micro Portable Security 1.5 is similar to Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) but both products will be sold independently and will have different activation code formats. Trend Micro recommends installing the Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) Management Program on a different computer than the Trend Micro Portable Security 1.5 Management Program. This ensures that you can continue using the Trend Micro Portable Security 1.5 devices. To install the Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) SP4 Management Program, plug-in the Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) SP4 Scanning Tool into the USB port of the management computer. Refer to the Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) User's Guide for detailed installation instructions. Note: Activating the Scanning Tool on the management computer for the first time may take a few minutes. Please do not remove the USB drive before the Scanning Tool appears on the list of registered devices on the Management Program console. Note: If you prefer to use the Scanning Tool as a standalone device, refer to 5.2 Activating the Standalone Scanning Tool. 5.2 Activating the Standalone Scanning Tool ===================================================================== To use the Scanning Tool as a standalone device, click Launcher.exe from the TMPS2_SYS drive to activate the Scanning Tool and you can start scanning devices, except for those with the Management Program installed. 5.3 Changing the Scanning Tool Language ===================================================================== You can change the language from the Scanning Tool console. 5.4 Installing the Scanning Tool Agent ===================================================================== To install the Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) SP4 Scanning Tool Agent, plug-in the Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) SP4 Scanning Tool into the USB port of a computer you want to scan. Refer to the Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) User's Guide for detailed installation instructions. Note: Scanning Tool Agent cannot be installed on a computer installed with Management Program. 5.5 Upgrading from the Previous Version ===================================================================== Trend Micro releases updates occasionally to provide features and improvements to Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM). For detailed upgrade instructions, refer to the Trend Micro Portable Security 2(TM) User's Guide. 6. Post-Installation Configuration ======================================================================== Download the latest components from Trend Micro immediately after activating the standalone device or after installing the Management Program. This ensures that the Scanning Tool is using the latest components when scanning devices. Manually exclude the SfSrvCom.exe service of the Management Program from your firewall product settings. This is because the Management Program uses the SfSrvCom.exe service to remotely communicate with the Scanning Tool. 7. Known Issues ======================================================================== 7.1 Management Program ===================================================================== a. After importing Management Program settings, originally registered Scanning Tool devices will only be recognized and registered to the restored Management Program if the connection port, IP address, and password of the Management Program are manually set to its original values. 7.2 Scanning Tool ===================================================================== a. To safely remove a Scanning Tool from a Windows 10 operating system, users will have to right-click each of the two drives using the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray. b. Scheduled scans and scheduled updates will not execute if the endpoint is logged out before or at the scheduled start time. 8.
